Week Late Update
By Joe Sixpack Siv McColskey

Well after I've had a week to digest our last game I can finally bring myself to make some shit up, now I'm sure you're all shocked to find out that this blog is not the Gospel Truth so here goes.
Good skate with lots of action & some really good goaltending, as always seems to happen near the end of the season we had a few more flat-bellies & everyones game benefits from that. This one went down to the wire with the Darkies finally scoring the beer frame goal for a true "next goal wins" victory.

It looked like the Darkies were going to skate away with this one early on as they kept steady pressure on the White & if not for the play of Tree this would have been over quickly. While Tree held the fort Rusty, Spongee & the boys settled in with the help of every new set of young legs that came through the door. Rustoleum used his speed & skill to some success, potting a couple but has been mostly kept in check since his fan club stopped showing up.
Romo played so well he got his own pin up post on the blog & Johnny Longpants jumped right back in at top speed after missing a couple weeks. Fricker was quick as a cat on his wing & involved at both ends & teamed with Pop Gun for some instant offense, unfortunately Pop Gun kept shooting the puck into my glove.

The Darkies had some tricks of their own this week as Crabby, disguised as a ninja, took a perfect pass from Rusty to open the scoring, they were on different teams...it was right on the tape...between the circles. We also had a flat-belly of our own,
the Deputy Commish donned some skaters gear & made us all wonder why he ever took up goalie. Young Dan notched a hattrick on "Mr. Tooms" including the goal to send us into the summer, I guess the White boys figured he was the real Commish not a playmaker.
Opie was also up to his old tricks keeping up with guys at least 2/3rds his age, while Durty Curty patrolled the offensive zone like the true sniper he is. This one was a low scoring affair due in large part to the play of the defense for both teams, for the Darkies Quiet Brian teamed with special guest bartender Johnny Suds to form a quality tandem, Sudsy found out quickly that his car is not as fast as Romo & that Spongee may not be the best player in the TNHL.
Also on the blueline were the Dynamic Duo, Murph & Flounder who once again turned in all star efforts, Flounder picked up another goal, his fourth in three games. Daddy Pat proved to be a trailblazer for this group once again, weather its on site sharpening or extra beer Pat is the man. This week he pops in the back door of the locker room showing no regard for the alarm ensuring we will no longer have
to take the walk of shame after a loss.
I waited to mention Crafty because of a couple of plays that resulted in shot to the head. Crafty had a high stick graze his cage along the boards to my right, went down like he was shot grabbing his cage & stopping play, a few minutes later a slap-shot
left a black mark on my helmet, bounced off the screen behind my net & back into the crease about 4' off the ice. Crafty, showing great concern for my well being, caught the puck, threw it in the net & raised his stick, I was still on my feet, I'm ok.

Curty did a nice job with the beer on a hot night some ice cold LaBatt's. As always it was a great season & I'm so glad to be back thanks to the Commish for all his hard work & to all you guys for keeping my childhood alive.
See you soon at golf, bbq, summer hockey?
