WEEKLY UPDATE

As winter begins to creep in the boys laced up the skates & took to the friendly confines of Springfield Ice Rink. The Darkies skated away with the win & a fine locker room refreshment session followed.
The Dark squad was led on offence by Crafty & Curty, these guys teamed up for a couple of goals each, some worthy of Sports Centers Top Ten. Shooter continues to look good as he stalked the White zone scoring a few points as well. Shooter was looking for his complementary TNHL t-shirt in the locker room but he was told he has yet to meet the minimum required number of passes need to aquire "THE SHIRT". Quiet Brian had his typical solid/steady game, getting on the scoreboard,breaking up plays in the neutral zone & playing in his own end. On Defense Johnny Longpants & Daddy Pat used their offensive skills every chance they had, taking the puck deep or with a sweet outlet pass to start a rush. While Jaybird & Murph were the stay at home guys clamping down several juicy rebounds & helping to keep the white score down.
The Whites were led by the speedy front line of Chuck & Liam who used their relentless forecheck to get many quality scoring chances as did Fricker & JD who each found the back of the net. Plenty of scoring push came from the back line, Tim notched a couple & Crabby chipped in with one of his own while Rusty & Brit were all over the ice working up quite a thirst. In goal, Tree was sporting a brand new chest protector that made him look like Garth Snow, the problem with that is Garth is now a general manager. Tree was not happy with his performance but from where I was standing it looked like he made the first save then had little help with the rebounds.
A big thanks has to go out to Frank for coming out to sharpen some skates, although I did see several guys go down early on which made me think of WKRP in Cincinnati & Les Nessman "The turkeys are hitting the ground like bags of wet cement". Frank will be at the rink on the second Tuesday of each month, thanks to Daddy Pat for that little service. Also we must thank Brit for supplying the suds, he has quite a memory not a Miller Lite to be found, ya gotta love that guy. We were missing a few regulars this week, The Hurricane, Tony Romo were nowhere to be found forcing me to drink their share of beer & The Commish spent the night ignoring hockey moms all over the tri state area. Then we have Spongee, I wanted to personally thank him for getting a replacement for me last week, little did I know my fill in is HUGE in Europe. I'm looking into rumors that Spongee has hitched his wagon to Trappers star & has become a roadie, looking to get some of The Hoff's cast-offs. I knew I saw him with the real Hoff in The Sponge Bob Movie!
