Game 23 Summary - from the crevice
WEEKLY UPDATE
This week’s update was delayed as I pulled a double this week. I was asked to play Dennis St. Dennis Thursday night even tending his crease. The Commish brought out a stable of young talent to the Springfield Ice Box & I must say they displayed skills I have not witnessed on Tuesdays. These boys have been well coached, which means Spongie has never met any of them. They also had an usual habit of returning to their own zone to play DEFENSE; more proof Spongie has not stunted their growth as hockey players. I look forward to watching those guys win a lot of games in high school.
Now on to Tuesday, good skate, nice pace, full benches make for a good game. All I need to say is the white crew took it to the dark side; Spongie scored a goal late in the contest to bring his +/- down to around –12. Chuckie did a nice job on the ice but did not bring beer to the feet of the Commish until we were asked to leave. Thankfully, Shooter had the fore sight to provide some beers for locker room #1. Tony Soprano took to the ice trying to drum up some bets on his pony & to see if Fricker or Liam wanted to be his jockey. Daddy Pat went down like a Crabby but was able to return to action looks like he will be able to go this week. Buckets was missing again, hey Bill, if you come back we will start calling you STATUE again. Cone did not skate this week he went to see QUEEN, that’s right QUEEN, but I heard he was wearing his RUSH T-shirt. The Commish will not be there next week; I walked in on him & Shooter talking about some Gay Pride Parade. Tommy Dolan must be suffering from the worst case of jet lag in the history of flight.

I am disappointed on few fronts. First; I did go down like a crab with a cracked claw (Tuesday is 50-50 for me). Second; we found out that spongee is NOT a team player. His team got their buts kicked & all he could talk about was scoring a goal (his first in what? 2 years). Third; the most heart breaking news, Wilson skipped hockey to go see Queen! During St. Patrick's Day week, going to see Queen! A band named in honor of the British Crown! Unforgivable! The GAA has ruled Mr Wilson is banned from Team Ireland roster for any tournamnet play for one year! This is standard punishment for a first offense, the second offense warrants the punishment of being knee-capped. Mr Wilson, as a USA citizen, is free to play on Team World this year, which is a sentence to a losing team. Dennis we hope you can see the error in you ways, serve you suspension with honor and come back strong to Team Ireland next year.

Read the rant you Tree hugger. The decision was not made by me but by th GAA (Gaelic Athlethic Association) the governing body of Team Ireland sporting events. I am a mere humble messenger. We would have loved to have Mr Wilson on our roster, sounds like you don't.
Dennis, revenge is best served cold & what is colder then Tuesday night on the ice. Work on a letter of apology to the GAA & if we can get you re-instated we will match you up against the tree hugger.

Man, I miss a week and now nothing I am reading seems to make sense. Is the tourney on or off this week? Is the Commish realy going to miss this week? What team am I on? What taem does Shooter play for? I'm so confused.

Enough of the personal attacks that is how "the troubles " began with the tournament many years ago.
Russ, sides will be posted for the tourney next week its a three game deal. Tommorrow is a evaluation for some new talent and potential starters for next season. All the big game players are resting this week for the playoff run.
