The Irish Classic - playing for the Cup!

Rosters are due for the Irish Classic, so named because theirs are the only names on the virtual TNHL trophy.

Note from the commish:

1. I need the Irish 9 man roster no later than Friday 3:30 pm.
2. If your not skating let me know lots of more qualified skaters want in on the tourney.
3. Lockeroom 4 and or 1 are for the All-World -Allstars.
4. Scoreboard will be on for the last three weeks.
5. Trohpy will be awarded for winning team.
6. Second place is the first loser.
7. In the event of a tie we will have a tire curling.
8. Bring beer.
9. Bring beer.
10. The "are you okay " rule still applies even though we all want the hardware.

Last three skates 8:30 - 10:00 pm. All games start 8:45 promptly. The idea was presented to have a skills competition , sad to report the Irish lacked the skill-sets to compete!

Editors Note: Beer tastes better when iced!

Crabmaster, get that peice of shit teacup off the blog. Its a tournamnet NOT a Irish tournament. We play for a trophy not a green teacup!
Still no roster from the Head Spuds. I cannot post the All world squad untill I get feedback from the Irish Captains. Some Spuds will be cut from the Irish squad no worries you can play for the winners USA All world team.

Maybe you should put a picture of a paper bag up instead, I'm sure Grand Master Spongie can relate to that much better. That is what he drinks his OLDE ENGLISH 40's from.

The RA is The Republican Army of IRELAND, and the way to get it up is to ask a stupid question. Another way to get the RA up is to drop the puck.

Question: Whats the toughest part about playing for team USS Sponge in the TNHL Ireland Touney?

Answer: Telling your parents that you're gay!

The GAA will not be able to the Irish Roster available until Sunday. This is due to the short notice of the request & begining of Spring and the farming chores that brings. Their are the sheep to be sheared, Cows to calf and plowing to be done.

Some of you World players may be of great use on the farm. That Spongee seems like a natural to shovel the dung out of the briar.

Due to the unfair deadline & roster restrictions the GAA be grudgingly submits the following roster.

IRISH Roster

Joe McCloskey
Russ Fury
Tom Dolan
Pat Doherty
Jim Donohue
Jeff Craskey
Liam Montgomery
Mark Fricker
Brian Collins

Dan Shields; Coach/Beer Consultant

Alternates: Bernie Sweeney, Tom Wilson, Brendan Crowe, Sean MacIhenney

The roster was decided by choosing Irish players that have been reliable in their attendannce each week. There are Irish players that we would love to have listed, BUT the commish has placed unfair roster restrictions on us. Therefore, we were forced to go with players we know will be able to attend the games. It is the hope of the GAA that the Commish can put aside his fears & prejudices and allow the roster to be expanded to include all the Irish players.

Cheers
