Township Meeting this Tuesday 7/13 @ 8PM

UPDATE: Rink will not open next season!

Guys,

As Springfield residents and present or former coaches with Springfield school
programs and/or the Hawks, we are asking for your support to come to next
Tuesday's Springfield Commissioners meeting at the Township Building at 8:00 PM.
Your support is appreciated by attendance alone, or you may offer to say a few
words on behalf of your program or personal feelings on the matter. (Sandy, I
know you are not a Sprinfield resident, but I thought your involvement from the
Radnor and formerly the Hawks angle, are pertinent).

The Commissioners seem to have no urgency in dealing with the Township adjuster,
who appears to be slowing the process for approval to proceed for the ice rink
repairs. At this point, the rink opening is at best delayed until November and
at worst, if repairs are delayed long enough, will result in the rink remaining
closed all year. I am attaching the letter that the Hawks have issued to brief
its membership and request support at the upcoming meeting.

Several members of the Hawks and various other school programs which use the
rink (Radnor, Lower Merion, Marple) have also been asked to attend and/or speak.
Currently, 1-2 Hawks representative, a Lower Merion rep, and a local
figure-skating instructor have agreed to speak at the meeting to express their
programs' desire to expedite the process and their reliance on this local rink.

Let me know if you are available and willing to attend. If you have any
questions give me a call.

Thanks,

Mike Brawley
