WEEKLY UPDATE

Although there was plenty of space on the benches this week it turned out being a good game. The White boys skated off with a one goal, come from behind win. Dirty Curty opened the scoring for the Dark squad & the boys were able to build a 3-0 lead about twenty five minutes into what was shaping up to be a goalies duel. Officer Friendly finished off a nice two-on-one & the Whites scored the next goal as well, the game would not see a lead larger than two goals the rest of the night. The Commish returned this week, bounced a puck off of Chuck to start the game & had a good night picking up a couple of points along the way. Daddy Pat, sporting lots of new gear that should keep him protected on the ice well into his eighties, played his typically responsible game at both ends all the time "shinning like a new dime." Fu-Man Fricker, sporting some old school porn facial hair continued his strong play, he had a steady thrust all night & was clutch when it came time for the money shots, pumping in a few.
The White boys settled down after falling behind & slowly took control of the game behind Tree's leadership between the pipes. Crafty started using his size & speed getting to the net & scoring a couple of goals as he does most weeks, around the same time Sgt. Patterson began to get his feet under him & also found the net in his preparation for league play this spring. Limpin Liam always seems to find himself in good scoring areas & getting quality chances, the only way to stop him was to have Rusty blast a shot off his ankle. Rusty, playing for the same team wanted to field dress his prey after tracking Liam to the bench.
The Dark defensive trio of Quiet Brian, Murph & Opie were key at both ends chipping in with big goals & assists. In their own end the boys did all they could controlling the big White forwards for long stretches but when the White started to feed the point Johnny Longpants & Romo kept steady pressure on the Dark leading to the comeback. A quick three goal outburst put the Whites in front & saw Murph trying everything including using his stick as a javelin when it sailed over the boards at one point.

The pre-game skate saw Crabby doing his best Sydney Crosby impersonation shooting & skating with the boys then enjoying a beer on his way out, looks like Crab man could be back soon, lets hope so.
As for this weeks no-shows, Shooter was up at Limerick Nuke Plant on a shut down or he was hanging out at some wrinkle ranch for karaoke night. Monsignor Bonner's own Spongee was hard at work preparing for the boat show next week in hopes of moving one of the new party barges he just picked up down south, best of luck Spongee.
Flounder also was working keeping the mean streets of Lower Merion safe from Allen Iverson types, that was after relaxing in his easy chair waiting for the latest Dancing With the Stars line up to be revealed.

White Doug had just flown into Newark & was looking forward to driving through Camden. What can be said about Britter, he has been missing way to long did. Dunfee sell him the horse?
I picked up the beers this week, 28 frothy bottles of Labatt's awaited us after the skate, always tasty.
Till next week

WEEKLY UPDATE

A disputed goal in this weeks tilt has left the outcome up in the air, the White boys will say the puck was covered & the Darkies will say the puck was loose & the Whites were to lazy on their coverage & didn't help Tree after he made the first save. Since I write the Blog & play for the Dark.... GOOD GOAL! game ends in a tie, I think. Anyway it was a tight game, the pace was good but not quite what it has been lately. Daddy Pat opened the scoring for the Darkies then added the controversial goal later showing some quick, soft hands. Limpin Liam tied it up a short time later & continues to look better each week on that gimpy knee. Opie was flying again this week leading the way on offense for the Dark & Curty continues to play at a high level even without his little buddy Brit. The youngest skater on the ice seemed to be surprised at the speed us old guys still play the game, Mike filled in & looked like the older than any of us by the time he left, pretty sure he will be hurting for a few days. The Darkies used a three man rotation on D, Johnny Longpants, Flounder & Murph played "Pronger like" minutes earning many cold beers for their efforts.
The Whites welcomed back Shooter as he helped kick start their offense scoring one off a sweet backhand & another off his titanium hip. Shooter also managed to piss-off a whole gaggle of Gilfs when he ditched them for hockey.
Crafty played defense last night which led to several breakaway chances & a couple goals....for him. Romo was all over the ice as usual, playing tight defense & making me look silly with a couple goals. Office Friendly was blasting from the point & played much higher in the offensive zone than he normally does, not sure what to make of that. Fricker has been a force every week this season & has developed a new spin move, keeping the puck close to his body & taking one hand off his stick, gonna have to keep an eye on this. It will either mean more points or a contract with Disney on Ice. Didn't see much of Spongee down my end this week & I'm not even sure he had a shot on goal guess he is still getting used to the time change after his Arkansas trip.

Crabby is slowly improving although not fast enough for our liking but he is still keeping himself busy.
Absent this week were Quiet Brian, who was hosting a CD release party for his latest record using his stage name "Cody Matherson"

& the Commish who was unanimously voted Tool Bag of the Week after his 7pm blog post telling us he is out.<

Rusty had himself quite a week, he played a strong game & did a tremendous job with the beer covering 28 LaBatt's with 16lbs of ice it was beautiful. He also spent a little time in North Carolina on a corporate fishing/sales trip things started to go down hill once Russ' wardrobe saw the light of day.

Till next week.

WEEKLY UPDATE

Great pace to the game this week as the Darkies skated off with a win for the second straight game. Tree returned to the nets & played like he had never left but his big game was not enough this time. Daddy Pat opened the scoring for the Whites & had a strong game at both ends of the ice, but Curty teamed with White Doug to tie it up & soon the Darkies took the lead they would never surrender. A strong forecheck & clever game plan led to several great chances & a few goals for the Dark, knowing that Spongee would be amped up for this one the Darkies played the puck into his corner as much as possible. This was like shooting a ping-pong ball into a revolving door, you knew the puck would come out quick but you didn't know where, Spongee had two weeks of turnovers to get out of his system.
This was a key to victory, The Commish, Fricker & Wojo led the way early on while Murph & Bobby the Cop kept the White off the board for a long stretch. Limpin Liam played his strongest game of the season showing how far his knee has come & picked up an important goal for the Whites as a result of his hard work. Crafty added a couple playing his normal power game & was even spotted deep in his own end several times this week. Officer Friendly was held scoreless this week but still managed to create chances with his "Hartnell Down" style of play. The Big 3 were also held in check, Opie & Romo were kept off the board despite their high tempo game due in large part to the play of Quiet Brian & Flounder. The folks at breath Right Nasal Strips sure have taken notice signing Flounder to a huge endorsement deal.
Johnny Longpants scored the beer frame goal but was frustrated by the Darkies otherwise.
Crabby is still a couple weeks away but is making thew most of his free time... I guess!? Guessing Rusty was stalking more deer dick & Shooter was cutting his grass.
Over the years the TNHL has evolved into a true brotherhood so as a member you would never want to let one of the guys down let alone the whole gang, this was almost the case on Tuesday. Our old pal Britter has been missing the last few weeks due to work & his pending move out to "Rusty's Killing Fields" so it should figure he would end up on the "Beer List", as the boys dressed for the skate the Commish wondered aloud if Brit & the Beer were going to make it. As the room worried their frosty reward would not be waiting after the game, quietly The Commish sent out the
Labatt's Signal.
Minutes later Gotham City was at ease as Britter, our brother, came through with the beer! Good thing or we would have strung his ass up.
Till next week

on a side note my neighbor didn't like the card her kids made her for Valentine's Day.

WEEKLY UPDATE

AHOY
The boys really got after it this week, a spirited affair that was similar to the Flyers game except with a lot more goals & the Darkies finally pulled one out. Curty was flying in this one & picked some corners to lead the way while Fricker & the Commish worked the corners for loose pucks to set in motion some real nice passing which led to goals. Bob the Pirate filled in for Tree this week & kept this one closer than it should have been for the white. Luckly we were able to get him, the only other number we had was for a goaltending school in Chester & we all know about their school system.
Crafty continued his torrid streak against me scoring on two of his first three shots on goal, he picked up at least one more off a nice feed from Daddy Pat. Romo also found the the twine for a couple but he & the rest of the White boys were shut down, Opie, Officer Friendly, Limpin'Liam & Rusty were frustrated by a stifling Dark defense. Murph, Flounder & Bob the Cop broke up plays & rushed the puck the other way & after the Darkies learned to pamper Johnny Longpants with a nice warm towel when he got to the bench you could feel the chemistry beginning to grow. We welcomed back Shooter from a brief hiatus & he would not let his pending hip replacement surgery affect his play one bit, I don't remember a single pass.
Once again we had a few guys missing this week so again I turned to my sources for some pictures. Every so often some of our TNHL'ers travel to some of the most exotic places on earth, just this week Tree went across the pond & spent some time in England. He then went to that emerging hockey hot bed Ireland for some goaltending tips & a few Guinness, Tree is so revered on the Emerald Isle that they erected a statue in his honor.
Spongee was also honored at the Redneck Yacht Club down in Arkansas when he was named the newest Admiral, ever the businessman Spongee picked up a couple sea worthy vessels for the Bonner Boat sale.
Daddy Pat showed why he is such an important cog in the TNHL wheel by neatly packing icey cold LaBatt's & LaBatt's Lite, this went well with the extended lockerroom time after the skate. Crabby took the time to join us for a bit & give us an update on his broken ribs.....they are still broken. Hopefully he can get back quickly.
One more thing, I have been a member of the TNHL since day one & I can not remember a night like tonight. First I get my skates sharpened out of the back of a Kia like it was some kind of sweatshop then a conversation about the Sixers? Really? WTF?
Til next week.

WEEKLY UPDATE

Another good skate is in the books and once again the White boy's held off a late surge from the Darkies to skate away winners. This was a crazy game that saw lots of goals, some shaky(to say the least) goaltending along with several great saves. There was also a scary collision between Crabby & Officer Friendly, turns out Crab man has a couple of broken ribs (Crabby'Xray below, notice the rib displacement)
& I'm pretty sure Chuck has a stiff neck at the very least. Would we be able to tell if Chuck had a concussion? From my crease it appeared as though a WWF wrestling match broke out between Crabby & the Lower Merion Police Dept. Chuck appeared to try a pile driver into Crabby with both falling to the mat then Flounder moved in for the pin. Hopefully both of these guys will be back very soon.
Crafty had a huge night for the Whites scoring on several painfully slow shots from all over the ice, the shots were slower than the fourth track students at Chester High. Our weekly skate has turned into an offensive display, especially last night with the defense joining the rush & scoring big goals. Flounder opened the scoring for the Darkies & had another one later in the game, he jumped into the play like it was a hot tub full of co-eds.
Jaybird nearly notched what may have been his first hat-trick in the "T". Old friend Wojo returned, must have heard about the wrestling match, anyway he helped fill in for a few of our regulars. Although these guys were not here my sources tracked them down yesterday & sent me some pictures; Spongee, God Bless him, will go till the ends of the earth to save his beloved Bonner High.
Fricker had a basketball game,
Britter is becoming a mover & shaker in the radio biz
& Shooter was busy
& stood up another GILF.

For the first time this season I saw the back of Johnny Longpants jersey instead of trying to figure out which corner he was going to pick, it was a nice change.
Johnny showed his dedication to the TNHL with a tasty case of ice cold Rolling Rock spread out into two coolers, safe to say he led the game in ice time with that move. Guess he had to put his lunch in a brown bag today. The Commish had a nice assist with a case of league favorite LaBatt's in a nifty cardboard cooler.

Just to let you know I have a block pool for the game this weekend, plenty of blocks left, sorry I forgot to bring it with me last night let me know if you want any
JCMB636@verizon.net.
Till next week.
