WEEKLY UPDATE

After our first ever all-star drinkers break some of our best boozers returned to their Tuesday night home. The Dark squad skated off with a victory for the first time in the past few weeks. The benches overflowing with skaters the pace was quick & the Darkies jumped out to an early lead. Shooter scored one of the nicest goals of the night when he ripped a laser into the top corner from the face off dot. The week off helped everyone regain their legs as play picked up & the dark boys held the lead midway through. Tony Romo would get the Whites going with a redirection off his skate followed by a missile up under the cross bar for his second on the night. Tree kept things close with solid goaltending as usual but the Darkies finally cooled him off with a barrage of shots. Fricker's three day hangover had little effect on his game as he used his deceptive speed to score the goal of the night splitting the defense & wristing a shot just inside the post, Chuck also scored from that spot just minutes later. The Dark got contributions from everyone, Daddy Pat had his usual strong game, Moose had a couple of goals along with Quiet Brian & Jay Bird had a rare goal straying from his stay at home defensive style. The Commish returned after watching his son Dan Jr. backstop the Springfield Cougars all the way to the final four of the Flyers Cup & old friend Wojo buzzed through as he does at least once a year. Johnny Longpants was a welcomed addition teaming with Murph for a tough defensive pairing, but the real story was young Mitch Fury. His steady confident play stabilized the old legs on the Dark bench using his deft stick handling skills & great vision making us all wonder why Rusty didn't pay more attention to all the coaches he paid to teach Mitch all those skills. With Mom (Buffy) looking on Mitch put on a display of hockey talent she has been waiting to see since she started dating Russ, you could hear her laughing as Mitch dumped the old man about half way through the game.
Rudy was completely frustrated for the White squad after hitting me in the face during warm up & Crabby, Curty & Gluten Johnny also struggled to find the net. Liam & Spongee did Westfield Rd. proud with a good effort earning their post game beers once again. The boys found beer in the locker room due to Murph & myself stepping up to uphold the integrity of the TNHL. Great skate boys , see you Tuesday.

WEEKLY UPDATE

Tree is in the zone, for the second straight week he stole the show & this week he was better than last allowing just one goal. This is why chicks dig goalies. The Dark squad opened the scoring early on but could not solve Tree the rest of the night despite several great chances as he led the Whites to a convincing 8-1 win. The game was pretty tight for the first forty-five minutes with good scoring chances at each end then with the score at 2-1 Johnny Longpants opened the flood gates with the first of a six goal onslaught from the White. Rudy was back on his game netting a couple of goals & setting up Liam on the doorstep with a sweet pass. Quiet Brian teamed with his brother Gluten Johnny to star in the Collins family documentary "TNHL HERO"S" & expect to be signing autographs at the next family reunion. Tony Romo played a little forward this week & opened the scoring for the White ripping a breakaway goal top shelf while JD did his best imitation of his son Shane by scoring a big goal late. Crabby scrapped himself off the ice after two big collisions to score on a slap shot from between the circles & Spongee played his best game of the season he just could not get on the board but he did manage to blow the shut-out for Tree.
I don't have much to report on the Dark team as you know by now we have not scored many goals the last two weeks. Play has been solid just not very productive & this week the goal tending was OK but not up to the standards Tree has set.
It was a strange night at the old barn, the Commish showed up early but did not stay while Rusty showed up late & he did. Romo was on beer detail & he did not disappoint supplying plenty of cold LaBatts well into the night. Dunfee has already on the milk carton for St Patrick's Day next week no word yet on the rest of the IRA.

WEAKLY UPDATE

Well it has taken almost a week but I think I have finally come to terms with SIV-ing out this past Tuesday. Tree on the other hand was on top of his game making many big saves. I'm pretty sure the entire White squad had at least one goal in the easy blow-out win. The best player on the Dark team was Fricker & that was because he brought the beer. See you Tuesday.
