WEEKLY UPDATE
At 8:45 it looked like we would be short more than a few skaters but by 9:15 each team had nine players so the game was on. The White squad scored on the first shift once again this week as Romo banged home the nights first shot. The lead however would be short lived as the Darkies answered with three of their own to take the lead for good early on. To say this was not one of Tree's best nights would be an understatement, we have not seen an effort in goal at that end of the rink since we had a goalie with parents that stuttered. We have come to learn that our pal Dennis was suffering from a twisted left testicle, hopefully Tree will not need to re-deviate his septum to get himself back in the groove.
With the late arrivals came some roster changes, Johnny Longpants was wearing a Dark sweater for one of the few times this season, don't look for this to happen again any time soon Johnny's towel boy wears White. This move forced the White boys to move Crafty to defense so he was harder to find the offensive zone than a virgin in a Darby middle school. I am happy to report Shooter has returned from the disabled list bringing with him a wicked wrist shot & blazing speed, it had a playoff beard & his name is Jimmy. But Shooter looked good after cashing in his buy two get one free card at Hippo-Rama. In a related story Crabby is back at work & well on his way to recovery after his surgery despite his concerns that Shooter was sending him to a fat girl strip club.
The Dark boys stretched their lead every few minutes making it look easy at times due to the discovery of Spongee's break-out game plan.It seems Bob left his playbook at a local yoga studio & sure enough it wound up in Dark hands here is a look at what we could translate.
The Darkies took advantage, the Constipation Kid had a bunch of goals along with an occasional assist & Sarge teamed with White Doug for a couple. Daddy Pat played his minutes on defense this week but still managed to work some magic with Quiet Brian on a pretty tip in play late in this one. Old friend Stinky Pete was back & playing well, shaking off the rust he acquired while honoring his contract with Hanna-Barbara on the Flintstones reunion tour. Hockey Dave also made it out this week & his frustration was shared by many of his White teammates when the Rink Queen kicked us out into the rainy night while 5 watched with his broom in hand. The White boys showed some spunk late as Cagney & Lacy started to stir & get some good chances only to be denied by Murph & Flounder.
Till next week
